On your first visit to our office, our New Patient Coordinator will greet you and explain what takes place during the initial visit. Prior to this initial visit, you will receive medical and dental history forms to complete. The New Patient Coordinator will review the forms and answer any questions you may have prior to the initial examination.

Next, Dr. Dailey will do an oral exam and discuss your needs for orthodontics. He will go over the type of treatment needed and answer any questions or concerns that you may have. This is a complimentary visit to help you become familiar with orthodontics and our office. At this visit, one of the following recommendations will be given:
  • Treatment is needed now
  • Treatment is not needed at all
  • Treatment will be needed, but the timing is such that it should be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors are ideal.
The next step to proceed with treatment is to take the diagnostic records. This can be done the day of your new patient exam if desired, or you can schedule that appointment for a more convenient time. Diagnostic records consist of two x-rays (a panorex and cephalometric film), impressions for study models, and diagnostic photographs.

It takes about one week to ten days to compile the records and for Dr. Dailey to study your individual case and formalize a treatment plan to fit your individual needs and goals. The diagnostic findings will be discussed with you at your following appointment, the consultation. During the consultation appointment, we will review your treatment plan; review patient education; make financial arrangements; and schedule the appointments necessary to start your treatment.
